In recognition of their successful endeavor in initiating the transplanting of 5,000 lbs of quahogs to a spawner sanctuary in Winnapaug Pond as part of the "Green the Beach" Campaign to improve the environmental quality of the beach area, the benefits of which will increase the population of quahogs in the pond for recreational fisherman and improve its water quality. The Town Council extends its appreciation to said Julia Beasley and Nick Celico for their commitment to protect and preserve one of our most valuable natural resources.
